When we moved into our house from our tiny apartment we suddenly had a lack of furniture! We were in desperate need of night tables that had both style and storage. I also didn't want anymore pieces of wooden furniture in our bedroom, as we have two dressers and a king size wooden sleigh bed.
As a solution I started to think about redesigning that round occasional table with the flowered skirt and the glass top. For some reason I always think of my grandmother when I picture that table, i think she may have had one in her bedroom. While I never fell in love with those tables, I loved that you could shove a bunch of stuff underneath and nobody but you knew it was there.
So off I went to Ikea and I purchased two of the eina tables for $29.99 each:
I found some great dark grey velvet and stitched up a straight skirt with large box pleats at the corners. I measured the finished dimensions of the night stand with the skirt and made a trip to my local glass store. I ordered two pieces of glass 5/8 inches thick. I love the final product because I don't have to worry about putting my water glass on something and I can hide a ton of stuff underneath (especially after I bought a few large baskets).
I live outside of Boston with my husband, two children, and dog. For the past 8 years I have been working with clients to help them make their home dreams a reality. From helping to build homes from the ground up to helping round out already finished spaces, I listen to my clinets and let their vision guide our process. I have always been a creative person planning spaces and working to make them function better. After completing the Residential Interiors program at Boston Architectural College I learned how to combine my love for funcion and flow with my eye for color, scale, and balance. As a graduate of New York University's Stern School of Business, I understand project planning and budget management. My experience working with clients, contractors, and architects helps to coordinate and streamline the home building and renovation process, helping my clients to have the home they dream of with less of the stress that comes with building and decision making.
