fashion exhibits

The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum both have amazing fashion exhibits on display right now. I know because I visited both museums a few weeks ago in New York. For those of you who don't know, my previous experience is in fashion, working as an account executive for Armani.

It is always amazes me to see historic fashion, I love to see what has changed, what has adapted, what has stayed, and what has come back. Unfortunately, I was unable to take photographs at the MET however, the Brooklyn Museum did allow non-flash Photography. Here are some of my favorites:

I love the summery stripes and florals

It always amazes me how styles in fashion and design come and go, while the cut of this 1950's dress may not be up to today's standards, the sari silk could be incorporated into any outfit or home of today.

I love the architectural feel of this clover ball gown, it is created with a wire underskirt.

I would love to have this Chanel in my closet.
