The High Line

The next time you find yourself in NYC you have to walk the High Line. It is a beautiful walkway and garden that currently runs from Gansevoort St. @ Washington Street to West 20th Street between 10th and 11th. Only this section is completed at this time but eventually it will run all the way up to the West Side Rail Yards at 34th Street.

It is elevated 2-3 stories above the ground and has some great views of the city, beautiful native perennial gardens, and places for stopping to enjoy the scenery. Parts of it even run through buildings.

I love how they left some of the old rail lines intact.
