Upholstery Update- Our Last Class

I know that this is very long overdue, but awhile back Chris and I had our last upholstery class together.  We now have found a new date night activity (more on that later), and I am continuing upholstery myself. Anyhow, I finished one of my chairs and have since almost finished the second at home (before and after photos will be posted soon).  Chris almost completed his chaise, but I have been working on finishing it at the beginning of this semester.

First I trimmed the extra fabric from the back of the chair with a razor blade.

Then I made some double welting cord to finish off the edges and cover all the staples.

I attached the double welting cord using a glue gun, very carefully!

Finally, I made some buttons with tacks in them and secured the side pleats.

Chris worked on finishing the fabric on the inside of the arms and the back.

Back First!

Then Arms!

After we finished we packed up our pieces, and headed to our favorite restaurant (Il Casale) to have dinner and drinks at the bar.
