oh the livingroom...

we have now lived in this house for almost 3 years, and have had to do all the projects that nobody notices (i.e re-pointing brick, re-glazing windows, replacing heating and cooling systems...)  After all this we still do not have a usable, comfortable, furnished living room.  I have started this project and vow to have it all done by this time next year. Right now I am at the point where I am the only one able to visualize the end result. The collection of furniture that I have acquired makes me wonder if I am currently colorblind or crazy.

I am doing these chairs and my husband Chris is doing the ugly gold chaise in our bedroom (that is another entry entirely)!

 

the flea market find

Kravet collection Deco Leaf Graphite

The beautiful asymmetrical fireplace chairs were a Rowley flea market find (definitely worth getting up at 5am). While the current fabric leaves my brain a little crazy especially when you see them against the old carpet. They will be reupholstered in a grey kravet fabric and probably lacquered black. The Kravet print is much larger and not as visually overwhelming.

 

 

The rug will be replaced, it is burgundy and too small. I am thinking of just putting down an ivory sisal and getting a matching one for the dining room. However, I am going to wait until the rest of the furniture is in. So on to the couch, I have fallen in love and must have the...

 

Celia Collection Sofa from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams

It's clean and simple yet reflects some of the same French art nouveau and Louis XV lines that are so abundant in the other pieces that I have collected. I see the light at the end of the tunnel, but I can guarantee that everyone else who currently visits my living room thinks that I am crazy. I cannot wait until it is done!

Did you get the celia sofa in the exact same color as shown on the website? do you mind telling me which fabric swatch it is? Thanks! I am dying to get the sofabut they just pulled it off their showroom. the people at the showroom can't even tell me exactly which fabric swatch it is.
